ROOTED IN HISTORY,

GROWING TOWARD RESTORATION

Inside a greenhouse, hanging white pots and blooming flowers, including pink, purple, and yellow, with gravel pathway and a fan overhead.

FORGOTTEN LANDS STARTED AS AN ITCH TO DO SOMETHING MORE. IT’S GROWN INTO A FARM, A GREENHOUSE AND A COMMUNITY LANDSCAPE STITCHED TOGETHER BY CARE AND THE LOVE OF FLOWERS IN TURTLE CREEK, JUST EAST OF PITTSBURGH.

A CENTURY-OLD GREENHOUSE

FOR GENERATIONS, OUR GREENHOUSE HAS BEEN A MON VALLEY MAINSTAY - THE PLACE NEIGHBORS COME FOR SPRING COLORS, VEGGIE STARTS AND FAMILIAR FACES. WE’RE PROUD TO STEWARD THIS SPACE FORWARD, HONORING WHAT CAME BEFORE WHILE INTRODUCING NEW RHYTHMS AND POSSIBILITIES.

A HILLSIDE COMING BACK TO LIFE

JUST BEYOND THE GREENHOUSE LIES 25 ACRES OF LAND ONCE MARKED BY STRIP MINING. TODAY WE’RE WORKING WITH NATURAL SYSTEMS TO RESTORE IT. IMPROVING SOIL HEALTH, BUILDING BIODIVERSIY, AND CREATING NEW HABITATS THAT SUPPORT THE LONG-TERM RESILIENCE OF THE LAND.

PART OF THAT WORK INCLUDES CULTIVATING GARDENS FILLED WITH CUT FLOWERS FOR OUR SUBSCRIPTION PROGRAM. WE GROW ANNUALS (STARTED AT OUR GREENHOUSE!) AND PERENNIALS - BOTH CULTIVATED AND NATIVE VARIETIES. OUR CUT FLOWERS ARE SOLD THROUGH WEEKLY SUBSCRIPTIONS AND OCCASIONALLY TO LOCAL FLORISTS.

A FLOWER FARMER WITH BIG DREAMS

WE BELIEVE THAT TENDING TO THE LAND IS ALSO A WAY OF TENDING TO COMMUNITY. EVERY PLANT WE GROW, EVERY BLOOM WE HARVEST, REFLECTS OUR HOPE TO BE MORE A JOYFUL, ABUNDANT, ECOLOGICALLY VIBRANT MON VALLEY.

It may not be sprawling, but it packs a punch with quality and variety.
